What We Believe
God wants all human beings to enjoy the fullness of life which he has promised.
Lesbians and gay men have no choice about their sexual orientation, but we do have a choice about being Christian.
Choosing to be a Christian does not mean a life-time without sex. For most people such a choice is psychologically and spiritually destructive. But it does mean behaving responsibly, including trying to build relationships of self-giving love and commitment. The best place for sexual activity is in such relationships.
The Bible speaks against various forms of abusive relationships, but it does not condemn committed, faithful, life-giving, loving relationships between equal partners of the same gender.
Christians should condemn any relationship in which there is abuse or exploitation; such relationships cannot lead to our fullness of life.
Just as we expect the support and prayers of our Christian brothers and sisters in our struggle towards holiness, so we must support and pray for them, whether they understand us or not. This part of our particular sacrificial love.
